Bedroom Image

A Baltimore, Inner Harbor penthouse master bedroom,  the contrast of the bold space and views contrasted with a very upholstered and classic interior design showing silk panels filling the corners, and layers of silk and cottons on the inviting custom bed linens supported by Niermann Week’s Loire Bed.    The Baker chairs and black lacquer console help in creating stature in the space which could easily be in a small luxury hotel.

This Washington, D.C. space is really 2 floors underground, and therefore is a room with no windows.  Often, in luxury hospitality environments, and in residential lower levels, we are without windows.  The very soft lighting is achieved by many recessed lights kept dim, and the reflection of light from all the surfaces.  The doors could lead outside, as if we were in a New York luxury hotel walking out to the terrace!

Café Nancy

Café Nancy

Here, a Baltimore restaurant gets a polished look of maple floors and custom banquettes under unique lighting pendants.  Luxury hospitality meets clean form and function.   This café would be equally at home in a boutique hotel or a museum space.

Outdoor Patio

Outdoor Patio

This Howard county, Maryland home sits comfortably in the grove of trees surrounding the property.  The soft round patio and retaining walls incorporate the stone work which is mimicked in the back of the Century furniture outdoor chair backs.  Asian motif with a strong sense of classic proportions, this upscale home did not leave the backyard out of the equation!

A Bethesda, Maryland kitchen gets the custom treatment with custom kitchen cabinetry and mouldings.  The solid mahogany island contrasts beautifully with the Shell white painted cabinetry which has an overglaze in mushroom.    The La Cornue range has double ovens, and resides under a beautiful custom kitchen hood.  Note the arched window and the rare marble “Taupe Shadow”.  Kitchen design includes Lefroy Brooks faucets and custom hardware.

Sky Bathroom

A Baltimore, Maryland high rise owner’s bathroom is treated with custom mirror with lights over standard cabinetry and flanked by a pair of Baker Furniture’s Pyramid bookcases.  Note the Egyptian motif in the soft peak at the top of the cabinets matching that of the custom mirror peak.  Water closet has artwork that defines the calming interior design of the space.

Lobby

Lobby

The space could be in New York, Washington, D.C. or anywhere.  It is in Baltimore and part of a lobby with architectural features such as cast concrete and contemporary décor playing to the clean, crisp graphic aesthetic softend beautifully by one arrangement of fresh flowers.  The look could be a night club just as easily as an upscale restaurant.  Here -  a lobby space in a premiere student housing complex at the Maryland Institute College of Art.

Boardroom

Boardroom

A classic boardroom with wood paneling on the walls, vault arches for a ceiling and the august portrait of one of the founders speaks of the oldest of traditions.   The chairs, by Hickory Chair are the Carrie Chair by Mariette Himes Gomez.  This chameleon of a chair can become contemporary in a solid bright fabric,  or go back in time, as with the unique wood handles on the chair backs.  The interior decoration in this room works due to the restraint shown in not adding layers of artwork, plants, and other decorative items.  This could be a corporate boardroom, a prestigious boardroom at a law firm or any number of places.   As a historic boardroom it could be in Charleston or New York just as easily.
